Polylactic acid (PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic polymer, PLA is particularly attractive as a sustainable alternative to petrochemical derived, Polylactic acid can be processed like most thermoplastics into fiber and film. Lactic acid can be derived from the fermentation of agricultural by products such as cone starch or other starch rich substances like maize, sugar or wheat, PLA is currently used in a number of biomedical applications, such as sutures, dialysis media and drug delivery devices. Being biodegradable it can also be employed in the preparation of bioplastic, useful for producing packaging, compost bags, food packaging and disposable tableware. Recycle of PLA which include re-pellet or degrade to lactic acid, however, re-pellet is simple and economy, the pellet can be mixed with virgin resin and physical properties are not different too much. It is helpful environment and commerce increase in the near future.
